About this Course

What happens when words join together or change their endings? Help preschoolers become curious word explorers! This self-paced course introduces structural analysis through compound words, common word endings like -s, -ed, and -ing, and simple prefixes and suffixes. Discover engaging ways to explore how words work through stories, conversations, and everyday classroom experiences—giving children new tools to understand language and grow their vocabulary!

What you will learn by the end of the course

Analyze how compound words can be used in early learning contexts to support vocabulary growth and word comprehension. 

 Apply strategies to introduce and reinforce the meaning of simple inflectional ends (-s, -ed, -ing) in daily routines and books. 

Explain how to introduce simple prefixes and suffixes in oral and print-rich environments.
