Tammi McGinn
Tammi has worked in the Early Childhood Education field since 1990 when she was enrolled in her local high school vocational centerâs Early Childhood Education program and lab school for the last 2 years before graduation. She went on to earn a B.A in Family and Child Development from Crown College in Minnesota, while working part-time as an assistant teacher in many private and chain childcare centers and caring for children in their homes as a nanny. Tammi continued her work as a lead teacher, classroom teacher, Home Visitor, and Second Step Curriculum Teacher with different agencies in Northern and Southern Illinois over the course of 17 years, leading to gaining a M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction, Early Childhood Education. Once she moved with her family to Central Florida in 2013, she worked for 6 years at Metropolitan Ministries as an Program Coordinator and Volunteer Staff Trainer of ParentChild+, an Early Childhood Literacy Home visiting program, serving homeless families and their children and training volunteer staff to work alongside her to complete each program year. She moved on to Professional Development Specialist in 2020 with ELC Pinellas in which she coached and trained childcare providers and co-led a VPK Pilot with the Pinellas County School District to help raise Quality and VPK composite scores. This led her to her current role with ELCHC as a Provider Quality Specialist in May 2022. Tammi has a passion for supporting childcare providers and leaders, as well, as young families in Hillsborough County and seeks to always lead with compassion and understanding.
Tammi has been married for 17 years and together they have 4 sons, 1 daughter, 1 daughter in law & 1 son in law, and our first grandchild (a boy) who is 1.5 yrs old. They all keep her busy but in her free time, she enjoys trying new foods in the area, traveling the world, and laughing until she cries with her husband, Bruce. She also loves the beach, Disney, reading books, and diamond painting.
