Monica Selleri
Monica has worked in education for over
16 years, starting as a 4-year-old Assistant Teacher in
an early childhood center. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Arts from Boston University and a Master's in Education Administration, Curriculum and Supervision from the University of Oklahoma. After graduating with her theater degree Monica spent time living in NYC working as an actor/musician and teaching children's theater classes which prompted her to transition to a career in education. She spent 2 years as a Teach for America corps member in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she received her professional teaching certifications in elementary education and special education. Monica spent 5 years in an
elementary classroom, teaching Kindergarten â 2nd
grade before transitioning to the role Senior Director of Early Childhood Education for the YMCA of Greater Tulsa. Monica moved to the Tampa area in 2019 and worked with the Tampa Metropolitan YMCA as the Senior Director of Training, Curriculum, and Compliance where she developed curriculum and supported compliance for extended learning programs. She also holds her Advanced Director Credential
with VPK Endorsement for the state of Florida.
Monica began her time with the ELCHC as Training Coordinator in 2022 and was promoted to Manager of Education shortly after. She
is certified as a CLASS observer in the Infant, Toddler
and Preschool tools and is a Certified in Community of
Practice Facilitator. She is passionate about professional development and
supporting early childhood educators to provide
equitable and inclusive learning experiences for
young children.
Monica has 3 young children, two cats, and a dog and
enjoys spending time with her family at local beaches,
restaurants, and playing in her backyard.
