Meena Saxena
Meena earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University-Bloomington, with a minor in Sociology and Womenâs Studies. Her experience includes serving as a group home mom for delinquent boys, advocating for battered women, and working as a probation and parole officer, specializing in Domestic Violence.
Meena left the workforce to be a full-time mom and raise her two children, during which time she volunteered extensively in schools, with Girl Scouts, and in her faith community as a religious education teacher. After her children grew, she re-entered the workforce as a substitute teacher and joined the ELC three years ago.
Since joining ELCHC, Meena has been certified as a CLASS observer in Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K Tools and is also a certified IACET trainer. She is a Flamingo Certified Coach and holds Professional Certification Levels 1 and 2 in Trauma and Resilience.
Throughout her extensive career, Meena has worked with diverse populations and has demonstrated her commitment to education and serving as a change agent for individuals and communities. She deeply believes that creating equitable opportunities for childrenâs education will help them reach their full potential and contribute positively to society.
She is planning on joining the Masterâs program for Early Learning Policy in the Fall of 2025. Outside of work, Meena enjoys doing crafts, socializing with friends, and attending live music events.
