Martha Aguiar
Martha's career has been dedicated to working with staff, children, and families in Early Childhood. It is both her passion and mission to do all that she can to make a difference in the lives of children. Martha earned her bachelor's degree in early childhood development. Martha's first job in the field was as a two-year-old Teacher while attending college in 1983, yikes! She has held several positions in the early childhood field including a Teacher, Assistant Director and a Director. Martha earned her Advanced Level Director's Credentials during this time as well. Once she joined the ELCHC she became a certified observer in the Infant, Toddler and Preschool tools as a Provider Quality Specialist. Martha is certified as a Flamingo coach, Community of Practice, Lastinger Early Childhood Certified Technical Assistance Coach. She is a Teaching Strategies Gold trainer and is a Master Facilitator for virtual trainings from Nsync. Martha is a certified trainer for ITERS, ECERS and PAS as well as Brazelton TouchPoints. She is a trainer for the USF HOT DOCS parent training certified in Trauma & Resilience Level 1 where she brings all these experiences to her current role as the Workforce Coordinator. Martha's current projects include the Directorâs CoP, Workforce Initiatives, United Way Quality Childcare Initiative, Business Coaching, TEACH, INCENTIVE$ and supporting her team in the design and implementation of innovative programs that aim to support the early education workforce and childcare industry.
Her favorite part of working with providers is creating opportunities for professional growth through both training and coaching allowing them to use these experiences to pave the way for our providers to feel more confident and relaxed about the work, they do for our children. She is certified as an observer in the Infant, Toddler & Preschool tools, she is certified in Community of Practice and is a Flamingo certified coach. She is passionate about maintaining relationships with providers through both coaching, mentoring, and providing professional development so that they feel confident and secure in coming to her with their concerns.
