Lissette Godwin
Lissette has worked in Early Childhood Education for over 25 years. She began her career as a Kindergarten Teacher with the School District of Hillsborough Countyâs and later became a District Resource Teacher with School Readiness Programs. She holds a bachelorâs in early childhood and a masterâs degree in educational leadership. Her passion has always been in Early childhood. From the beginning she has been a teacher who lets children learn in the way that is most meaningful for them, through PLAY. Through the years she has transferred that passion to helping other teachers master their craft and expand their knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices. Seeing a gap in the professional development available for our Bilingual Spanish teachers, she set a goal to be a voice for them and create opportunities in which they too could expand their knowledge and master their craft.
Her favorite part of working with providers is creating opportunities for professional growth through both training and coaching allowing them to use these experiences to pave the way for our providers to feel more confident and relaxed about the work, they do for our children. She is certified as an observer in the Infant, Toddler & Preschool tools, she is certified in Community of Practice and is a Flamingo certified coach. She is passionate about maintaining relationships with providers through both coaching, mentoring, and providing professional development so that they feel confident and secure in coming to her with their concerns.
